Regional Action Plan for Promotion of Combined Heat and Power Production in the Neisse-Nisa-Nysa Euroregion (Save II Project No.: 4.1031/P/00-22/2000)

 

Project has started on 1. April 2001 and the kick-off meeting was held on 23-24 April at City hall in Liberec, Czech Republic.

The duration of the project is 13 months and the project finalisation deadline is April 30th 2002.


The next meeting (4th) of project team is scheduled to 1. February 2002 and will be held in Zittau, Germany.

 

The project consortium consists of the following partners:

SRC International CS (Prague, Czech Republic), who will manage the whole project and will be involved in all aspects of the work. It is the overall project co-ordinator.

Three core partners from the countries in the region, March Consulting (CZ), Institute for Ecology and Environmental Protection IEEP (DE), and National Energy Conservation Agency NAPE (PL), are responsible for regional data collection, co-ordination and dissemination.

In the Czech Republic, the company Power Service will support March Consulting. The Czech Energy Agency (CEA) is involved as a key player in CHP implementation. The Agency's main role is to provide feedback on the proposals, in dissemination, and to support the action on the national level.

Two EU consultants will support in CHP Action Plan development and regional policy making and will provide information relating to national and regional CHP policy in the EU Member State: the Netherlands Energy Research Foundation ECN together with the German partner IEEP.

 

Objective of the project:

  • To support the regional authorities and associations in the Neisse-Nisa-Nysa Euroregion in the promotion of combined heat and power production.
  • This will be achieved by developing a regional transboundary Action Plan for promotion of CHP in the Region

 

Contents of the Regional CHP Action Plan:

  1. Identification of potential of CHP and priority sectors Identification of barriers for CHP Recommendations for the regional institutional framework Recommendations for transboundary co-operation and co-operation with national authorities Financing of CHP projects Identification of regional promotion actions, including recommendations for implementation.
